Nowhere else in Britain can claim to offer such a diverse range of spectacular scenery, attractions and cultural heritage as Snowdonia National Park and the surrounding area.
Our stay is at The Royal Goat Hotel, Beddgelert (3 star) located in the attractive village which nestles beneath Mount Snowdon. The whole hotel has a welcoming atmosphere and very traditional style. There are several public rooms including a quiet lounge with chess, a warm looking lounge bar with artefacts, and a more modern bar, which in summer leads out on to a terrace with a few tables and chairs. Evening entertainment is provided in the restaurant after dinner on 2 nights per week. Dinner is three course with choices and coffee is included and the hotel has a very good reputation for food. There is a lift to the bedroom floors but there are normally some steps to get to most rooms. Most have bath and shower and some have excellent scenic views.
Day One We travel north stopping en route across Wales and arriving in time to relax before our Evening Meal.
Day Two Let Snowdon Mountain Railway take you on a journey of a lifetime to the rooftop of Wales. Mount Snowdon, at 3,560 ft dominates the landscape of Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. Claim this mountain peak the highest Wales, as a lifetime’s achievement. With stunning scenery and awe-inspiring views its all part of a great day out for you in North Wales.
Day Three After breakfast we travel north and to the Isle of Anglessey to visit the historic Beaumaris Castle one of Wales’ finest fortified castles. Spend the afternoon viewing the six lovely bays of Anglesey before returning to the mainland.
Day Four Today we board the Welsh Highland Railway for the journey from Beddgelert to Caernarfon having time to have lunch in Caernarfon before we meet our coach and travel to Portmeirion Village and Gardens.
Day Five We say our farewells and travel home arriving in our local area early evening.
