LINCOLN CHRISTMAS MARKETS (3 DAYS)

  ... - Lincoln Christmas Market

It all started in 1982 with the then Lincoln Christmas Market being a somewhat modest affair by today’s standard.  From those days of a few stalls in Castle Square, the market now takes over most of the Cathedral Quarter of Lincoln.  In fact there were just 14 stalls then, compared to well over 300 now.

Visitors can expect to find an array of quality hand-crafted goods, gifts, locally produced specialist foods and entertainment set against the breathtaking back drop of Lincoln’s magnificent cathedral and castle. Cathedral bells, Carol singers in Victorian costume, brass bands and millions of twinkling lights, not to mention the scent of mulled wine and roasting chestnuts, all adds to the magical atmosphere which makes Lincoln Christmas Market like no other.

For our weekend stay we are based at the Best Western Bentley Hotel and Leisure Club, Lincoln’s newest and most modern hotel, with extensive leisure facilities including Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, beauty salon and heated indoor pool.  The hotel is ideal located to visit Lincoln’s cathedral and castle.  All bedrooms are en-suite and have TV, hairdryer and trouser press.

FRIDAY  We depart our local area travelling to our hotel for this weekend break stopping en route for refreshments and having time to settle in to our hotel before Evening Meal.

SATURDAY   A leisurely start to the day when we arrive at the Christmas Market at say 11.00 hrs having a full day there and to have an evening meal in Lincoln leaving 20.00 hrs back to our hotel.

SUNDAY  After breakfast we take the scenic route Grantham, Melton Mowbray for coffee, Leicester and lunch at Coventry before finally arriving home late afternoon.
